Fans are reacting to the news that a veteran Japanese baseball pitcher is ending his career. Former New York Yankees' Hiroki Kuroda made the announcement Tuesday.

"I had the best season. I don't regret it at all."

He had returned to Japan last season to pitch for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp ― the team he started with 19 years ago. Kuroda helped them clinch the Central League championship this season for their first time in 25 years.
Kuroda marked 103 wins during his first 11 years in Hiroshima. Then he joined the Major League's LA Dodgers and New York Yankees, picking up 79 wins in seven years. He refused offers of millions of dollars from Major League teams in order to fulfill his promise to return to Hiroshima.
