今日のテキスト SATELLITE IN ORBIT

apan's space industry has marked an important step. Officials with the country's space agency say they have launched a rocket carrying the nation's first commercial satellite for a foreign company, and they say that satellite has successfully gone into orbit.
The H2A rocket blasted off at 3:50 PM local time from the Tanegashima Space Center in southwestern Japan. It was carrying a communications satellite for Canadian company Telesat that will serve Europe, Africa and South America.
Officials say after more than four hours of flight, the rocket successfully released the satellite 34,000 kilometers above the Earth, and it's now traveling in orbit. They say the length of the flight and the altitude achieved are both unprecedented for Japan.
The president of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency says JAXA will continue developing technologies for commercial satellite launches. Europe and Russia lead the market, and competition is heating up with the entry of a U.S. venture company.
