今日のテキスト COFFEE SHOPS EYE TEA

Japanese coffee shops have been hit hard by the weaker yen. It has pushed up the price of imported coffee beans. Now, operators of one chain are trying a new strategy that focuses on tea.
Executives at coffee shop chain Pronto say they'll add tea to their core menu next month. The outlets will offer a cup for right around two dollars 70 cents. That's about 65 cents more than a cup of coffee. Executives say they hope to double their sales of tea.
They're concerned that keeping a focus on coffee will hurt their profit margins. The cost of coffee beans from major exporter Brazil has jumped since early in the year. Bad weather has led to some damaged crops there.
Japanese cafe chains are also facing stiffer competition from convenience stores that have begun selling their own coffee.
