今日のテキスト TWO MEDALS FOR JAPAN SNOWBOARDERS

Athletes at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi are having to deal with some warmer weather. Temperatures well above zero degrees Celsius have softened the snow, and the competition is heating up, too.
Snowboarders showed their stuff on the halfpipe. Iouri Podladtchikov was born in Russia, but he grew up in and competes for Switzerland. He took home the gold. Two teenagers from Japan won the first medals for their country. Silver went to Ayumu Hirano, who's just 15 years old. Eighteen-year-old Taku Hiraoka took the bronze.

(Ayumu Hirano / Silver medalist)
"I'm so happy I could put in my best performance at the Olympics."

(Taku Hiraoka / Bronze medalist)
"I'm excited. I never imagined that I could win a medal."

Shaun White of the U.S. won gold in the last two Winter Games, but he dropped two tricks on his first run, and ended up fourth.
